Deal Criteria

BrightStreet Ventures adds value in three ways. We provide a ‘Test Tube’ for rolling out new platforms at shopping centers. We offer Incubation, Advisory and Access. Finally, we invest in entrepreneurs that have clear synergies with our core business. If you fit this profile, we’d love to hear from you.

Mobile Computing

Mobile computing is the intersection of the smartphone and the cloud. Brick and mortar is a natural overlay to the mobile experience.

Local Services

Wherever you are, you are never far away, and never lost when you embrace local services. For local to work, it must be relevant, real time and real.

Marketing Platforms

The age of data science is upon us. There are various ways of publishing, discovering, engaging and connecting. Growth hacking is a science.

Marketplaces

New models are emerging for connecting creators, consumers and solution providers. This is giving rise to new services that have no parallel in the past.

Real Estate Intelligence

You can’t improve what you don’t measure. Real estate business intelligence is a strategy based on market data, not guesswork.

Real Estate Management

We are huge believers in the role of business process automation systems. They enable companies to do more with less.

Omni-Channel

Omni-Channel is based on an awareness and an embrace of the essential truth that the consumer can visit, click or call.

CRM/Loyalty

When you understand that the consumer is only going to be loyal if it makes sense on their terms, you think more about how you cultivate that loyalty.

Personalized Targeting

It’s an express truth that when you build systems that truly serve the individual, that remember, train and retain core data, you can be targeted.

OUR STORY

Why is a shopping center developer creating a technology affiliate? First off, technology is deep in our bones. Our passion for it dates back to the first days of the personal computer. Over the years, we have built numerous software and hardware systems both for ourselves and others. Similarly, we’ve successfully cultivated a diverse base of real estate and technology ventures from first heartbeat to delivery and rapid growth. At our core, we’re tinkerers, and technology really plays to that aspect well. The bottom line, though, is that we see how mobile and online are transforming the way that consumers shop and interact with merchants. Having always been an innovator in shopper center marketing, analysis and communications, we see clearly how important it is to be a leader in this domain. For those reasons, we have created BrightStreet Ventures.

OUR PORTFOLIO

Our philosophy is that we are all in this together. A rising tide lifts all boats, after all. With that in mind, the solutions that we’re building we intend to utilize not only for our own benefit, but for the industry at large. Currently, there are four ventures that we are working on. The first is Datex Property Solutions, a real estate business intelligence system that unifies the various back office processes of real estate portfolio owners and operators. The second venture is Placer.ai, a foot traffic insights platform. The third is Merchant Centric, a consumer sentiment tracking service. The fourth is BlueList, a mobile marketplace.
